We are committed to thoughtful and responsible use of resources. Our journey began with a deep dive into fabric certifications and the realization that quality and longevity are often more important than just ecological labels. Rather than committing to buying hundreds or thousands of meters of ecological cotton, we chose to use deadstock fabric — leftovers that can’t be used for their original purpose. This decision allows us to create unique, high-quality shorts from materials that would otherwise be considered waste.
Each pair of shorts we produce carries a story of repurposing and conscious consumption. Each batch we make will introduce new kinds of fabric as we move through the small batches of hand picked deadstock.
We want to keep raising the bar. We are closely following advancements in carbon-negative fabrics and want to move that direction once it becomes accessible to small shops like ours. Our goal is to incorporate these innovative materials into our future collections. We believe in a future of mindful material choices where the respective industries rise to meet the needs of mankind.
We acknowledge that we are fallible and are still learning and evolving. The process has been full of challenges, from sourcing materials to perfecting our designs. We will be planting a tree for good measure for each pair of Editions sold.
